James B. “Jim” Wells

James B. “Jim” Wells, 71, of Encampment, WY, died Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at his home. He was born April 21, 1950, in Lamar, Colorado to Fred and Mildred (McKinnis) Wells.

He graduated from Boise City High School and played a year of football for the University of Wyoming.

He owned and operated Wells Saddle Shop in Laramie from 1979-1985.

Jim married Sally Wolfard on December 20, 1986 in Encampment, WY. They moved back to Boise City OK and have two sons, Dallas and Jacob.

Jim spent his life being a Cowboy, traveling the rodeo circuit or working cattle. His passions were Saddle Broncs and Oklahoma Sooners football.   He was a leather craftsman, repairing boots, making saddles and anything leather.

He was a member of the Wyoming Rodeo Association.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Wells of Encampment; his sons, Dallas and Jacob Wells of Encampment; and his siblings, Carolea Wellen of Elkhart, KS, Patsy Witten of Houston, TX, Gene Harmon of Houston, TX, Peggy Lea Sparkman of Keyes, OK, and Kathy Parker of Boise City, OK, and his nieces whom he loved dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers please give generously to Working Ranch Cowboys Association, (WRCA), crisis or scholarship funds. www.wrca.org/foundation/
