Isaac Neal Hubenthal

Isaac Neal Hubenthal, 26, passed away on the 21st day of June, 2021, in his hometown of Laramie, Wyoming. He was born on September 26, 1994, to Philip and Cheryl (Crone) Hubenthal.

Isaac attended homeschool through high school and graduated in 2013. He earned his Eagle Scout badge in 2013; and was a member of Civil Air Patrol, during which he attended National Blue Beret, and Pararescue Orientation Course (PJOC). Isaac participated in the US Naval Academy Summer session, but in 2013 chose to join the Army National Guard. He attended both Warrant Officer Career School and Aviation School at Ft. Rucker, AL, where he graduated as a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot in 2019. He took great pride in being a member of the ANG A/2-149th Aviation Unit in Cheyenne. He began working for Mountain West Farm Bureau as a claims adjuster in 2020. Never one to turn down extra projects, he was simultaneously working on duty assignments for the Guard, training toward rank promotion, and pursing a university degree in Computer Engineering. Isaac achieved the rank of WO2, serving a total of 8 years in the Wyoming Army National Guard.

Isaac was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Through the years, he enjoyed metal working, die casting, woodwork, long bow, riding his motorcycle, caring for his blue tegu- Valgard, genealogy, taekwando, parkour, and more recently took up snowboarding. Ever outgoing, no-one was a stranger; Isaac was fiercely devoted and loyal to his family and friends. He relished good conversation, and deep discussions on a variety of topics. He had a great sense of humor, and was known for his quick witty come-backs, love of puns, and a few bad jokes. He alsoparticipated in Cerar Clan, a local chapter of the Mandalorian Mercs Star Wars costuming club; and Acraein, an online gaming group. He loved being a pilot more than anything in the world- he always said he was “livin’ the dream”.

Isaac is survived by his parents, Philip and Cheryl Hubenthal; his sisters Ruth (Maksim) Kunakhovich, of Kansas City, KS; Ellen(Jason) Uttmark, of Casper, WY; nieces- Quinn, Caroline, and Julia; nephews- Niko, Deniz, Vito, Leo, Jay and Emerson; and many other relatives. Isaac was preceded in death by his sister Abigail (Charles) Sidener, and niece Eva Kunakhovich.

Isaac lived such an active and fruitful life. He has accomplished through his short but intense life so much more then ordinary individuals with much longer lifespans. He was living the dream of serving others and making this world a better, safer, and joy- filled place. He was “livin’ the dream” which ended to soon... Deepest condolences to Isaac's family, friends, and community.
