Hiram “Hi” Thompson

Hi was born to Hiram and Allie Thompson, September 9, 1927 in Rawlins, Wyoming. He attended Rawlins, Laramie, and Casper schools. He then went to work in the oil fields. He was working for Petty Geophysical near Purcell, Oklahoma when he met Dorcus Brown. They were married April 20, 1946 in Purcell. They were transferred late that year back to Wyoming. They lived in Lander. In 1947 Hi accepted employement with Marathon Oil and they moved to McFadden. They lived there for 35 years, then moved to Rock River in 1982, then to Laramie in 2007. He retired from Marathon Oil in 1986 after 39 years with the company. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Hanna Lodge AF&AM, The Schriners Cheyenne Consistory. He was also a lifetime member of the B.P.O Elks Lodge. His hobbies included fishing, building and being a good neighbor and friend. He also liked spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his daughter Patti (Kenny) Curry of Rock River, son Bill (Kayla) Thompson of Cheyenne; grandchildren Martin Curry, Stacey Senske, Mike Thompson and Breanna Thompson, eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home Pastor Jack Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 29, 2015, noon to service time on at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home. All Master Masons meet at the Lodge at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 to conduct services for our brother.Memorials may be may to the Catholic Church (614 South 4th Street, Laramie, Wyoming 82070), Hospice of Laramie (710 East Garfield Street Suite 339, Laramie, Wyoming 82072) or a charity of your choice.
