David A. Freitas

David Allen Freitas 71, passed away on 9 July 2022 in the Rawlins Wyoming hospital at 8:16pm from complications of COVID.
He was born 19 Jan 1951 to Evelyn and Joseph Tony Freitas in San Jose, California.
David loved to listen to BPR radio, and he loved bologna sandwiches.
David also enjoyed Mountain men outings and dressed in the old-time clothes and competed in the shoots. He was involved in the Girl Scouts and was an assistant leader for his daughter’s troop. He enjoyed fishing and camping and being with his family. He Graduated from San Jose State University in 1973 with a degree in Marine Biology. He served 6 years in the United States Army. He was able to serve in Nurnberg, West Germany at the Army Hospital. He got training in x-ray from the military and worked in Miles City, Montana, Philip, South Dakota, and Laramie, Wyoming Hospitals.
 He loved all of the people he worked with at the many hospitals that he worked at.
He is survived by his ex-wife Deborah J Darnell and his grandson Dylan J Freitas, also surviving are his brother and sister-in law Jerry P and Caroline Freitas, Dick and Eileen Freitas, Kevin and Vika Freitas and their children, Niece Christine Freitas, Nephew Mark Freitas and his family, Christen & Wade Hackney, Donna and Mark Love, Tony, Brit and Gabe Hanson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Wayne Freitas; and his daughter Elizabeth Ann Feitas who passed away on 14 Feb 2006.
He will be greatly missed. However, he is in a much better place with God and his daughter and his brother and his parents and at peace with no pain. God Bless you David, we love you.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 15th and Baker St. Funeral Service will start at 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Military Honors by the Wyoming National Guard and the Laramie Veterans Honor Guard.
