Austin G. Alameda

Austin Gene Alameda, 22, of Laramie, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021. He was born on March 9, 1999, in Jackson Hole, WY to BJ Alameda and Wendy Watts.

Austin grew up in the Platte Valley, spending his childhood in Saratoga and attending elementary school in Encampment. Austin moved to Laramie in 2011.  While attending Laramie High School, Austin was a member of the Snowy Range FFA.

Austin was most at home on the back of a horse or trekking up the side of a mountain.  He loved spending time at his family’s ranch, the Bar V as well as at his family’s cabin on Pennock mountain.  There were few occasions that made Austin happier than spending holidays and get-togethers with family. He loved his Gramma Jan’s home cooking, playing games and telling stories. Austin was genuine, kind, hard-working and had a heart of gold. Austin would lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  He had an infectious laugh and a heart-warming grin. Those who knew Austin, knew that he was a man of few words, but his presence spoke volumes and his love was immense.

Austin was employed by Big Huhnks Excavation, Inc. of Laramie, a job he truly loved. He was surrounded by a group of people that he could relate to – hard working and genuine.

He is survived by his parents, BJ Alameda of Wyoming, and Wendy Warren (Robert Needles) of Laramie; his brother, Garrett Alameda of Laramie; his fraternal grandparents, Glen (Elaine) Alameda and Kathy (Gene) Bryson; his maternal grandparents, Jan and Calvin Watts; his aunts and uncles, Tracy and Caleb Goodspeed, Bo and Kaycee Alameda, Casey and Bobbi Jo Alameda, and Kim and Greg Earl; his cousins, Libby, Gabe, Paige, Rowdy, Ryley, Ayden, Vann, and Matthew.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022, at the First Christian Church.

We are so sorry to hear about Austin. Jason and I will be praying prayers of comfort for you all as you grieve. I have fond memories of Austin from my time with him at Encampment School. I was happy to be able to see him this past fall as well. What a handsome and polite grown man he had become. Our condolences…

We are so very sorry to hear of your loss of Austin. I will always great memories the days I would take Austin and Garrett to the bus when there was an early meeting at school. Austin was usually very quiet, however his face let you know what his thoughts probably were. He and his brother always made me smile, and thinking about them still do. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you.

My thoughts are with Wendy and family. Losing a child at such a young age is devastating. Take plenty of time to heal. There’s a lot of people around you who care and love you. Don’t hesitate to accept their support.
