Ashley Ann Dunn

Ashley Ann Dunn, age 37, of Laramie, Wyoming passed away May 10, 2022.

Ashley was born in Laramie on April 10th, 1985, to Randy and Laurie Dunn. She was the 7th generation of a long line of hardworking ranchers that homesteaded in the Little Laramie Valley in 1868. She was the middle child of three sisters and grew up on the family ranch west of Laramie. Ashley was a true country girl and enjoyed riding horses, working cattle, and shooting prairie dogs. At 8 years old, she started showing steers and horses and couldn’t wait for her RyRy to start showing. She graduated from Laramie High School in 2003. She loved going up to the mountains and especially going skiing with her uncles and cousins. She loved taking drives on every dirt road in Albany County and listening to music. She had a deep bond and love for the ranch. She could be found every morning feeding cows with Lee, tagging newborn calves, and keeping records. She was the queen of the side rake during haying season. Ashley loved her Weimaraner’s, including her beloved Jake and after Jake’s passing her best pal Bingham. She had penchant for photography and did a great job documenting the ranch and her life in pictures via social media platforms. Everyone enjoyed her sharing photos of newborn calves dusted with snow, the sunsets over the Snowy Range and her crazy Tik-Tok posts that went viral many times. She kept others “in the know” as to the goings-on at the ranch, to the point where her dad could no longer get stuck in the mud or a ditch with any anonymity. One of the many things she was proud of was the title of “Aunt Ashie” and did her best to spoil her niece Kylee (Ky) and her nephews Beau (BoBo) and Ryker (RyRy), as well as being an Auntie to many of her friends’ kids.

Ashley is survived by her parents, Randy and Laurie, her sisters Jamie and Kelsey Dunn, her niece Kylee Schmalz, nephews Beau Schmalz and Ryker Thomas, and family members Jim Robinson, Susan Markle, Julie and Tommy Saunders, Jacqueline Robinson, Jeff and Teri Robinson, Greig Dunn, Darlene Biela and cousins Ronan, Quin, Catherine, Libbie, Ted, Laurie, Kim, Cassidy, Troy, Mika, Cecilee, Tycen, Tyler Pilkington, the Gonzales Family and her many friends near and far. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Rob and Dorothy Robinson, Bill and Alice Dunn, Phil and Loretta Foddrell and cousin Felicia Herrera.

Services will be June 1st at 10am at St. Paul’s Newman Center. To access the livestream go to www.newmancenter.org

Reception to follow at noon at the Albany County Fairgrounds.

To the Dunn Family,
There are truly no words when something so tragic and heartbreaking happens. When I was just a little girl, maybe 12 or 13, I remember coming out to your ranch and riding horses. Ashley got us chaps to wear and we took a bunch of “model” pictures on the horses. Looking back it was so silly and fun, it was a hot summer day and we were just being young girls, laughing and pretending to be super models on horses. As we grew into adults, there wasn’t a time that we crossed paths that she didn’t bring a smile to my face. You did a beautiful job raising her into the woman that she was, I am so thankful that, in this lifetime, our paths crossed, and I got to know your amazing daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. My heart is with each and every member of the Dunn family as you navigate the unthinkable and work through this grief. Sending you peace. -Lindsay Stoffers
