Andreita “Annie” Martinez-Romero

 ANNIE, 88, passed away February 23, 2023.  Beloved mother of Dolores M Garcia of Cheyenne.  Beloved mother-in-law to Joey G Garcia of Cheyenne and Sally Romero of Maine.  Loving Sister of Nora, Sadie, George, Sylvia, Christine and Rose.  Loving Grandmother of Timothy, Danny Jr., Nicole, Raymond, Rhianna and Robbie.  Loving great-grandmother of Joseph, Robert, Timothy Jr., Jordan, Venice, Taylah, Tristian, Jeffrey, Sammy, Wyatt, Griffin and Jillian.  Loving great-great grandmother of Adonis, Josiah, Dametrius, Layla and Braelee. 

Preceded in death by parents, Domingo and Sotera Angel-Martinez, brothers, Raymond, Johnny and Virgil, sisters, Angie and Lupe,  husband, Alejandro “Alex” Romero Sr., son, Alejandro “Alex Jr.” Romero, grandsons, Joey Gabriel Garcia and Orion Dominic Garcia and great-grandson, Alexander Phillip Roy. 

Survived by numerous nephews, nieces, in-laws, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, in-laws and cousins. 

Annie was born in Las Vegas, NM on April 21, 1935. 

She had a passion and love for quilting, cross-stitching, puzzles and Spanish music.  She was a retiree of University of Wyoming and did community work with Senior Companion.  All that knew, Annie will remember her by her famous red and green chili, how she carried a jalapeno and salt in her apron pocket and enjoyed garage selling on the weekends.  She loved watching her novellas (Spanish soap operas) and enjoyed making quilts for others.  

Rosary service will be at 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023 at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home. Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 at St. Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent and payable to the Annie Romero Memorial account, in c/o  Montgomery-Stryker, 2133 E Rainbow Avenue, Laramie, WY 82070.
