He was co-founder of the High Plains Archery Club located in Laramie’s old Lincoln School.  They repurposed 3 classrooms into an archery range.  Al enjoyed archery competitions, competing in the traditional archery category using bows and arrows he made in his shop.  He won numerous awards and trophies at the meets in which he competed.

He was preceded in death by his son Rodney Allan Businga.  He is survived by Marianne, his wife of 72 years and daughter Judy (Steve) Gerstenberger of Denver, CO and their children Anna (Ben) Cote, Linda (Pete) Nordlander and Louis (Halley) Gerstenberger.  He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Penny Businga of Gering, NE granddaughter Amber (Lionel) Newberry and Marc Pitts.  He is also survived by great-grandchildren Aidan, Gage, Carson & Kaylee Newberry, Zazou Pitts and Arlo, John & Ellison Nordlander, and long-time friend Don Bird and his daughter Donna (Gary) Crandall.

Marianne I am so sorry for your loss. I spent many hours and miles with Al going to archery shoots and working at the archery club. His friendship will be dearly missed. Al's wonderful dry sense of humor kept me entertained even when I was the brunt of it.

Our families lived one house apart on Harney. I grew up with Rod and Judy. Al and Marianne helped raise me too. Al was a wonderful person. 72 wonderful years of marriage. My prayers to Marianne and Judy and the family. God Bless
