Michael Eugene Mansfield

Michael Eugene Mansfield, passed away in his home on Saturday, March 25th,2017 listening to one of his favorite songs, “All of Me,” by John Legend. He was a 47 year old father, husband, son, brother, and friend. To be sure, if pancreatic cancer was a cancer that could be beat, his fight would have championed it.
He is survived by his three children, Sabrina, Gabriel, and Olivia.  They could not have been more loved by their Daddy.  His wife Tina has the gift of 25 years of marriage to him.  Family members who are missing him terribly too are; mother Sheila Mansfield, sisters; Hayley Strauss (Green River), her husband, Matthew Strauss, and their daughters Shayla, Kayde, and Brianna. Michelle Hager (Casper), her husband, Tony Hager, and daughters Mya, Avery, Abby, Emma, and Gracie. Holly Blau (Green River), her husband, Coltin Blau, and children Sophie, Addilyn, and Logan.  Best friend: Michael Dunham (Laramie), Uncle Joe and Aunt Trish Mansfield (Green River), Aunt Wanda and Uncle Jim Honey, and Aunt Donna Thompson (Cobden), and Uncle Tommy and Aunt Pauline Mansfield (Metropolis).  He will also be dearly missed by his Halliburton family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alton Jess Mansfield, grandmother, Opal Elaine Mansfield, and uncle, Harold Mansfield.
He was born in Lakenheath, England on April 17th, 1969. Michael and Tina married on January 1st, 1992. He received his Bachelors in Accounting with a minor in Criminal Justice in 1994. He recently celebrated a 10 year work anniversary at Halliburton. His deepest wish was, “just to take care of my little corner of the world,” and in that mission, he carved the deepest place in our hearts.  He loved music, the underdog, and breakfast for dinner.
Heartfelt thank yous to incredible professionals Nancy Halsey, Katie, Erin, Susan, SueAnn, Dr. Ullrich, Dr. Pederson, Dr. Carlson, Dr. Nachtigal, Jenna Scozzafava, Darla, Genna, Kizzy, Beth, Jenni, and Lou. Their compassion for Michael knew no bounds. They soothed him, and gave us more time with him. His care at Ivinson Memorial Hospital was headed by heroes.
Services will take place at 10:30 am Monday, April 3rd in Laramie at Montgomery Stryker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to a memorial fund for his children Sabrina, Gabe, and Olivia at UniWyo Federal Credit Union.

Heaven is crowded with angels today. Mike was a good man, a very good man, too good to be taken from us so young. He was always able to help, to make time, to talk, and most of all he was able to lead in a proper and inspiring way. He didn't yell, he helped he always helped. I am a better person for having known him for the limited time I did. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and children.
